What we do

From bare ground to the winery door

LGNS handles the full life of a vineyard — laying out and planting new blocks, farming them through the season, and bringing the fruit in at harvest.

Vineyard Development

New-vineyard layout, trellis installation, and planting. We mark out the blocks, set the posts and wire, and get young vines established — built to last for decades.

A new vineyard, start to finish

From bare ground to harvest

This is how we build a vineyard — the same work we can do on your land. Scroll to follow it, step by step.

Freshly cleared and prepared ground for a new vineyard
Step 01 — Layout

We mark out the land

First we clear and prepare the ground, then stake out the blocks and rows. This is the foundation — get it right, and everything that follows falls into place.

Step 02 — Trellis

We set the posts and wire

Next comes the trellis — posts, stakes, and wire down every row, plus irrigation. It's the structure the vines will grow on for decades.

Step 03 — Planting

We plant and raise the vines

Young vines go in the ground and we nurse them through their first seasons — pruning, training, and tending until the block is strong and established.

Step 04 — Harvest

We bring in the fruit

When the fruit is ready, we pick at peak ripeness and haul it to the winery — the payoff of everything before it, vintage after vintage.

Good to know

Questions we hear a lot

Do you work with smaller vineyards, or only large estates?

Both. Whether you have a few rows or many acres, we'll tailor the work to your vineyard, your goals, and your budget.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Napa and farm throughout the Napa Valley. For harvest and hauling, we can also work outside Napa. Not sure if you're in range? Give us a call and we'll let you know.

Can you develop a brand-new vineyard from scratch?

Yes. We handle the whole process — layout, trellis installation, and planting — and then farm the vineyard through every season that follows.

How does pricing work?

Every vineyard is different, so we start with a free site visit. From there you get a clear scope of work and a quote — no surprises.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. LGNS Farming carries the licensing and insurance required for professional vineyard work in California. Ask us and we're happy to share the details.

When should I reach out?

Any time. Vineyard work runs year-round — from winter pruning to fall harvest — and planning ahead helps us do our best work for you.
